2008 Redesign

11:02 am Site History

2008-Apr-16: I put an "Add This" button in the header of every page to make it easier for anyone to add the page to their favorites, email the URL to a friend, or add it to a social site like Digg, MySpace, or Facebook. Not that I expect anyone to do these things but you never know.

2008-Apr-09: Now I have a section for news. It should have seemed obvious that I’d need one, but I just didn’t think of it.

2008-Apr-08: Today I added content in the form of two more articles I originally wrote for Children’s Writers and Illustrators Market. The three articles go together well as the core of a new "Writing Tips" section.

2008-Apr-07: I spent the day working behind the scenes on things you might not notice.  It should run a bit faster and work a bit better, and should be a bit easier for me to maintain over time.  There’s now an archive for updates like this one, so the really old news doesn’t stay on the front page.  And I’ve earned two badges for site design:

Valid XHTML 1.0 Transitional Valid CSS!

They don’t give those to just anyone. You have to earn them.

2008-Apr-03: Today I added a page on Writing Humor, taken from an article I published in the 2002 Children’s Writers and Illustrators Market. It was a while ago, but humor hasn’t changed much since then.

2008-Apr-02: You may have noticed the Author’s Interview page. Like all parts of this site, it’s a work in progress in case you want to submit another question or two.

2008-Mar-26: Redesign of the Greg R. Fishbone Official Author Website begins in earnest, just in time for my April 13th workshop on web design at the New England SCBWI annual conference. I’m using WordPress blogging software as a base, modifying the templates and CSS to make it look and act more like a CMS than a blog.  It’ll all be covered in the workshop.
