Three cheers for BLTs!
Booksellers, Librarians, and Teachers are the BLTs of children’s literature. They provide crisp, tasty books and book-related nourishment to young readers and their parents all over the world.
The often thankless job of a BLT requires much reading and research to uncover hidden treasures that may not always be the most-hyped books of the season, or those written by the longest-established authors at the biggest publishing houses in New York.
To those BLTs who make a special effort to introduce readers to small press publishers, debut novelists, and those quiet releases that don’t make the bestseller lists, I salute you.
